Message From Professor Rexie Barnum Print
Thank you to Gracie Barra and Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. for the blessing to have a school in Hawaii.  I am honored and humbled by the great opportunity to be an instructor and member of the Gracie Barra family and to continue the improvement and the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  I understand and appreciate the duty placed upon me as an instructor and I will always strive to uphold the great traditions and family spirit of Gracie Barra.

Thank you to all the students of Gracie Barra Honolulu.  It is my privilege to be your instructor.  This is a new beginning for us.  Gracie Barra Honolulu provides the opportunity to take the best of Gracie Barra, add the talents and energies of our current and incoming students and instructors, to help us in our journey.  The connection to a great history and knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can only lead us to a fuller understanding of ourselves and help us in our life long journey of continuous growth and improvement.

Gracie Barra Honolulu is focused on the future.  We will reinforce and uphold the fundamental teachings of Gracie Barra along with the development of new knowledge.  I am inspired by what has been done, but most of all, I am excited about what we may do together.  "We are awed not by who we are, but by a vision of what we might become."  I am motivated by the many accomplishments of Gracie Barra and am energized by what Gracie Barra Honolulu may contribute to the Gracie Barra family and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Let us learn together and work together.  We will not be broken down or slowed by those who do not believe.  We will not be discouraged by those who cannot innovate for imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

I am committed towards the strengthening and growth of our family, always putting the team first.  Let us create together a new spirit of unity and inspire each other to improve our skills and be great role models of Gracie Barra and Gracie Barra Honolulu.

All are welcomed to Gracie Barra Honolulu to train with the Gracie Barra family.
